Actually speak
the language.
By speaking.

AI conversation practice to improve by speaking — from the moment you can hold your own (B1) all the way to mastery (C2). Real dialogue, phoneme-level pronunciation scoring and oral exam simulation, available 24/7, on any topic.

The problem

You can hold a conversation.
Now what.

Once you can get by in the language, what actually makes you better — speaking a lot, with real correction and careful pronunciation — tends to be expensive, inconvenient, or both.

How it works

A full session in
four steps.

SpeakVerve runs in your browser. No app, no booking, no waiting. Start speaking in under 30 seconds.

1

Pick your topic and level

Choose from dozens of topics — or describe your own field. Set your level (B1–B2, C1, C2). Optionally activate an exam format: Cambridge CAE/CPE, DALF C1/C2, Goethe C1, CAPLE C1/C2, EOI C1, DELF B2. Your partner becomes a real examiner.

2

Speak. Your partner responds in real time.

Native-sounding voices (British, American, Irish, Parisian). The conversation adapts to your level, introduces vocabulary one notch above yours, and keeps you engaged with debate, opinions, and follow-up questions.

3

Get structured feedback every few turns

Feedback split into clear blocks: what you did well, what to fix, vocabulary upgrades, next-level tips. Corrections are automatically added to your spaced-repetition deck.

4

Review, drill pronunciation, repeat

Your vocabulary deck grows every session. The SM-2 algorithm schedules reviews before you forget. The Pronunciation Lab identifies your weakest phonemes and generates minimal-pairs drills targeting them specifically.

Pronunciation Lab

Word-by-word scoring.
Phoneme by phoneme.

Azure’s speech engine scores every phoneme you produce — not just an overall grade. You see exactly which sounds need work, then drill them with targeted exercises.

Minimal pairs training: once SpeakVerve identifies your weak sounds, the lab generates drills targeting them — pairs like think / sink, van / ban, or French tu / tout. You practice exactly what you need, nothing else.
Comparison

Built to actually
speak.

It works from the moment you can get by (B1) and takes you to mastery (C2). What almost no tool gives you: real conversation with correction and pronunciation, at your level.

What’s included

Everything you need.
Nothing you don’t.

Voice conversation

Speak naturally. Azure Neural voices respond in real time. Hands-free mode keeps the flow going without touching the screen.

Rehearse the oral exam

Cambridge (CAE/CPE), EOI C1, DALF C1/C2, DELF B2, Goethe C1/B2, CAPLE C1/C2. The AI runs each part like an examiner and gives you a guidance score by criteria at the end. It is an estimate for practice, not an official grade.

One goal per session

Debating today? Telling a story, defending an idea, sounding more formal? You pick the focus, so you don’t end up practising the same thing every time.

Tap a word, get it

Tap any word you hear and, without breaking the conversation, see what it means, how it’s pronounced, and a real example.

Stop forgetting words

The vocabulary it corrects is saved automatically and brought back just before you’d forget it. Five-minute reviews a day, plus ready-made decks from day one.

Copy it and sound better

Say a phrase you just heard out loud, record yourself, and get a pronunciation score. You practise exactly what sounds right.

Writing practice

Submit essays, emails, reports, articles. Get an examiner-style assessment: band scores, corrections, upgrade suggestions.

Five languages

English, French, German and European Portuguese with native voices, missions and vocabulary (B1 to C2). Plus a native-Spanish mode to polish your own register and precision. Exam simulation in English (Cambridge, EOI), French (DALF, DELF), German (Goethe, TestDaF) and Portuguese (CAPLE).

Access

Right now,
free in beta.

SpeakVerve is in testing with a small group. During the beta, access is full and free — all we ask in return is your feedback to make it better.

And after the beta? SpeakVerve will cost a fraction of a private lesson (one hour with a C1 tutor is €50–100). Plans and prices will be announced before any charging begins — and there will always be a free option to try it.
FAQ

Common
questions.

What level do I need?
B1 and up. If you can already hold a basic conversation, you get value from day one: you choose your level (B1–B2, C1 or C2) and the conversation adapts. Intermediate learners use it to loosen up and speak; advanced learners, to sharpen register and nuance and prep for exams.
Which languages are supported?
English, French, German and European Portuguese with B1–C2 practice: native voices, missions, vocabulary and pronunciation scoring. Exam simulation covers English (Cambridge / EOI), French (DALF / DELF), German (Goethe / TestDaF) and Portuguese (CAPLE). There is also a native-Spanish mode to polish your own register and precision.
Do I need any special equipment?
Just a browser and a microphone. SpeakVerve works on Chrome, Edge, and Safari (iOS 14.5+). No app to install. It runs on desktop and mobile and can be added to your home screen as a PWA.
How is this different from a generic voice assistant?
A generic assistant will chat with you, but it will not correct you in a structured way, save your vocabulary to review, score your pronunciation, or simulate an exam. SpeakVerve is built around the full learning cycle: practise, get feedback, review, assess.
How much does it cost?
During the beta it is free, with a limited number of spots. When it leaves beta there will be paid plans (always with a free option to try) and we will announce them in advance before any charging begins. For anything, email speakverve.app@gmail.com.
